The Boone Toreadors softball team turned in an outstanding record on the field last week. 

Last week, the Toreadors played five games and posted a 4-1 record. They began their week with a doubleheader against Gilbert, splitting the games with a 9-3 loss and a 10-0 win. They then beat Webster City 11-1, Winterset 8-0, and Woodward-Granger 6-4. 

During their 9-3 loss to Gilbert, the Boone fell into a hole early, giving up eight runs across the first three innings. The Toreadors had just six hits in 27 at-bats with three singles, two doubles, and a triple. 

Brooke Weisbrod led the team with two hits. Halley Bailey had one hit and one RBI. Hailee Bingham, Finley Houser, and Harper Kuehl each had one hit. Kaylee Kuehl had two RBIs. Tenley Williams pitched most of the game, allowing five hits and three runs, striking out two batters. Kaylee Kuehl allowed four hits and six runs, striking out two batters. 

In their 10-0 win over Gilbert, Boone raced out to a 7-0 lead after the first inning before adding three more runs in the third inning. The Toreadors racked up 11 hits, and one of them was a home run. 

Claire Hardinger led the team with three hits. Halle Bailey had two hits and two RBIs. Karsyn Smith had two hits. Hailee Bingham had one hit and two RBIs, Kaylee Kuehl had one hit, which was a home run and an RBI, Brooke Weisbrod had one hit and one RBI, and Harper Kuehl had one hit. Brooke Weisbrod pitched a complete game, allowing two hits and no runs, striking out four batters. 

Against Webster City, the Toreadors exploded for nine runs across the first two innings before adding two more in the fourth inning. Boone registered two home runs, making it two games in a row with base-clearing hits. 

Kaylee Kuehl led the team with two hits and two RBIs. Brooke Weisbrod had two hits, one of which was a home run, and one RBI. Olivia Garver had two hits and one RBI. Hailee Bingham had one hit, which was a home run, and two RBIs. Claire Hardinger had two hits. Harper Kuehl and Tenley Williams had one hit and one RBI apiece. Halle Bailey had one hit. Tenley Williams pitched a complete game, allowing three hits and one run, striking out four batters. 

Against Winterset, the Toreadors put together an outstanding game, shutting out the Huskies 8-0. 

Brooke Weisbrod had a monster game with three hits, one of which was a home run, and five RBIs. Claire Hardinger had three hits and one RBI. Halle Bailey had two hits and one RBI. Kaylee Kuehl had one hit and one RBI. Harper Kuehl and Tenley Williams had one hit apiece. Brooke Weisbrod pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and no runs, striking out four batters. 

Their last game of the week was a battle against Woodward-Granger. The Toreadors trailed 4-2 heading into the sixth inning, but added four runs and held on defensively for the win. 

Hailee Bingham led the team with two hits and one RBI. Brooke Weisbrod was the true difference maker with one hit, which was a home run, and three RBIs. Tenley Williams had one hit and one RBI. Makenzie Klatt, Harper Kuehl, Halle Bailey, and Claire Hardinger had one hit apiece. Kaylee Kuehl pitched most of the game, allowing five hits and two runs, striking out three batters. Tenley Williams allowed four hits and two runs, striking out two batters. 

This week, Boone was expected to play Carroll in a doubleheader on Monday, North Polk on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Ballard on Thursday.
