The Boone Toreadors softball team added another win to their tally this year before stumbling for another loss.

Boone faced the Nevada Cubs for Senior Night on Tuesday at Gary Creasman Field, where they honored Noell Davidson and Gianna Turner for all that they have given to the program over the years. Boone got the win over Nevada, 12-1. Then, the Toreadors suffered a close loss to Bondurant-Farrar, 9-7.

In their win over Nevada, the Toreadors took just three innings to score 12 runs with a six-run first, a one-run second, and a five-run third. The Toreadors were dynamite from the plate, registering six hits in 14 at-bats. They had a whopping 11 RBIs off of those hits.

Hailee Bingham, Gracie Vodenik, Harper Kuehl, and Hadley Gustafson had one hit and two RBIs apiece. Halle Bailey and Noell Davidson had one hit and one RBI apiece, and Kaylee Kuehl had one RBI. Brooke Weisbrod pitched a complete game, earning the win, allowing one hit and one run, striking out four batters.

Against the Bluejays, the Toreadors never gave up. They went down big after the first inning, trailing 5-0, but slowly chipped away at the lead all game, and took a big bite out of the lead with a five-run fourth inning, but could never quite get over the hump.

Tenley Williams led the team with three hits and three RBIs. Abigail Leu and Halle Bailey had one hit and one RBI apiece. Claire Hardinger, Brooke Weisbrod, and Finley Houser had one hit apiece. Three pitchers took the circle: Tenley Williams was credited with the loss, allowing five hits and five runs; Brooke Weisbrod allowed five hits and two runs, striking out two batters; and Kaylee Kuehl allowed one hit and two runs, striking out one batter.

The Toreadors were slated to face the Perry Jayettes in Perry on Thursday to end their week.
